Not Everyone Wants You to Succeed

Do you know that not everyone wants you to succeed?

You’re probably thinking that’s a strange thing for me to say, as we all hope that those around us will be supportive of all our endeavours.

Well, the unfortunate truth is not everyone will support us on our journey of turning our dreams into reality.

This is not because they want to be horrible or vindictive, it is just that some people are triggered by the success of others because it makes them question their own lives.

When we try to better ourselves, it means you usually spend time learning new skills. To be able to do this you have to have drive and determination, which is sometimes lacking in others.

Initially, people around you are happy to see you working hard, but when you start to make traction and getting on, well, then it becomes a different matter. Where before they would be supportive, they now start to question why you’re doing what you’re doing and trying to find problems with why you’re doing it.

The problem is not you, as it can sometimes feel to people like you are holding a mirror up to them and they sometimes don’t like what they see, especially when they see you where they want to be or where they think they should be.

And this can lead to feelings of jealousy, resentment, and even competition.

This can lead them to not be supportive of your endeavours and success or they compare themselves to others and if they perceive you are doing better than they are, they lack offering you any kind of encouragement.

When you strive to be better, wanting more, the majority of people will be happy for you, until you get to the point where they get the feeling that you are doing better than they are.

Some of your friends and family don’t want you to succeed because they fear you may drastically change and leave them behind.

But the thing is, we are all on our own journey of truth, growth, and self-development, and almost everyone desires, successful relationships, careers, health, and so on, but not everyone will arrive there at the same time.

We’re all on different parts of the path, just trying to do the best we can and maybe we will all arrive there where we want to be or maybe not all of us will.

I found entrepreneurs are naturally driven, creative and rebellious, and they tend not to follow the rules or the crowds and this can be actually very off-putting for someone.

If one is conditioned to believe that you have to do things by the book, then they will have a hard time accepting your choices and may view what you’re doing as wrong.

You may even find and have personal experience of someone trying to taint your character and reputation to others. They talk bad of you behind your back in hopes that others will view you in a bad light.

However, usually in this situation, it’s only makes the person who spoke badly of you look bad.

At the end of the day, we aren’t here to please others, we are here to enjoy, explore, create, and live a life of fulfilment and happiness and we are all worthy of that.

Don’t let the jealousy and non-approval of others deter you off your path, just keep moving, keep creating, keep believing yourself and in your dreams.

Thank you.
